The Madison Metropolitan School District and city of Madison’s Metro Transit are partnering to provide free summer bus access for students in grades 6 through 12.
The Summer Youth Pass program allows eligible students to ride Metro buses at no cost throughout the summer.
Students who have an active Metro youth pass can continue using the same card over the summer to receive the free rides.
Students who do not already have a pass can access the Summer Youth Pass virtually through Metro Transit’s Fast Fare mobile app
Before June 5, students can request a physical pass through their school office.
“Reliable transportation helps students stay connected to learning opportunities, employment, recreation and their broader community throughout the summer months,” Vanessa Cruz, MMSD assistant director of transportation and logistics, said in a statement. “We’re grateful to continue partnering with Metro Transit to help remove barriers and make it easier for students to access the opportunities available to them across Madison.”
