Keurig Dr Pepper on Monday announced that it will buy Peet’s Coffee owner JDE Peet’s in a deal worth roughly $18 billion, according to the Associated Press.
Following the acquisition’s completion, the company plans to divide into two separate companies, with one focused on coffee and the other on beverages such as Dr Pepper, Canada Dry, 7Up and energy drinks.
The former will have roughly $16 billion in combined sales, and the latter around $11 billion.
Amsterdam-based JDE Peet’s other brands include L’OR, Jacobs, Douwe Egberts, Kenco, Pilao, Old Town, Super and Moccona.
