Kettle Black Kitchen, which took over the 1835 Monroe St. space formerly home to Joon, Burgrito’s, and Double S BBQ, has been sold, according to The Capital Times. Chef and owner Brian Hamilton finalized the paperwork on July 29 for a new family to take over the business.
Hamilton started the business as a meal kit service in 2020, moving into the brick-and-mortar space in 2021, and says he ran the restaurant for 60 hours per week over 3.5 years.
The new iteration of the restaurant will be called KBK and serve new American cuisine with Latin influences. The new chef will be former Draper Brothers Chop House executive chef Chris Lund. Lund co-owns the restaurant with his wife, Emily, and his in-laws, David and Sara Anderson.
