Kettle Black Kitchen announced Thursday it will close its doors on May 9 and will reopen as a new restaurant called Begonia.

The new restaurant at 1835 Monroe St. will be one rooted in chef Christopher Lund’s experience gained from working in San Francisco and Scottsdale, Arizona

The location will close for a short while as it is reimagined as the new endeavor. No opening date has been shared.

When we reopen, you’ll find a modern Latin menu full of unexpected flavors and dishes that stop you mid-bite, a full bar where the drinks are as thoughtfully considered as the food and the same faces who’ve been taking care of you all along,” the restaurant team said in a statement.

The new restaurant plans to continue working with its Wisconsin farm partners. And some of the Kettle Black favorites will be carried over.
