Katie Leinenkugel, a sixth generation family member, has been named the new president of Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company, becoming just the second woman to lead the company.
“I’m especially proud to be only the second female president in our family company’s long history. The first was Susan Leinenkugel, daughter of Jacob Leinenkugel, who led the brewery in 1927,” Leinenkugel said in a statement. “Nearly a century later, I’m humbled to follow in her footsteps and the footsteps of every president before me, to continue the legacy of leadership, innovation and family spirit that defines our iconic brewery.”
Leinenkugel Brewing Co. is owned by Molson Coors, which recently stopped brewing operations at the historic Chippewa Falls brewery last year and moved production to Milwaukee.
The company tried to purchase the brewery back from Molson Coors but failed.
