JustDane will host its 50th anniversary celebration featuring Father Gregory Boyle of Homeboy Industries. The event will be held April 11 from 6–8:30 p.m. at the Mitby Theater of Madison College’s Truax Campus.
The evening will begin with live jazz music and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a presentation from Father Boyle and Homeboys of Homeboy Industries. Based in Los Angeles, Homeboy Industries is the largest gang rehabilitation and reentry program in the world. It provides job training for formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated people so they can redirect their lives and help build a healthier, safer community. This correlates with the work JustDane does in Wisconsin at Just Bakery and with its reentry programs.
