Madison-based Exact Sciences, the developer of Cologuard, a non-invasive screening test for colon cancer, announced plans for a 77,000-square-foot expansion.

The company, which purchased the former Spectrum Brands building at 1 Exact Lane (renamed from 601 Rayovac Drive) in November, is currently building a new lab at 650 Forward Drive and has reportedly presented additional plans to the Madison Urban Design Commission that will add offices, a cafeteria, fitness space, and an outdoor patio, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

The company hopes to begin construction in summer with completion set for 2020. Exact Sciences employs about 850 workers in the area, and nearly another 400 nationwide.
