Dane County existing home sales dropped 8% compared to July 2013, according to the South Central Wisconsin MLS. That may not be particularly surprising because of this year’s lean inventory compared to last year, which proved to be one of the most robust years for home sales ever.

In July, 856 existing homes and condos were sold, compared to last year, when 932 transactions took place. The median price rose 8.5% to $233,327, up from $215,000 in July 2013.
