The fourth annual Ju-Ju’s Block Party is coming to Penn Park on Saturday, Aug. 17, bringing together a variety of vendors and community partners, Madison365 reports. The event, first held in 2021, gives back to the community — with a focus on resources, housing, and economic growth for families — and features a variety of fun activities.

Event founder Julian Walters says this year’s block party will center particularly on health, wealth, and enhancement, with organizations like Moving Up, Quartz, Navitus, Eventus, and Safe Communities providing information and resources to attendees.

The YMCA will give out 10 free one-year memberships at the event; a number of area barbers will provide free haircuts for kids ahead of the coming school year; a basketball tournament will be held on Penn Park’s newly renovated courts; and several Black businesses will be featured among the event’s 20 vendors. Local fire and police departments will also attend the event.
