Citing lower sales and earnings, Johnson Controls says it will cut an unspecified number of jobs at its headquarters in the suburban Milwaukee community of Glendale, according to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
In addition to its headquarters, cost reduction measures were announced at Johnson Controls three business units – power solutions, building efficiency, and automotive.
The cuts are tied to lower than expected sales in January, prompting the company to lower its guidance on sales and profits for the full fiscal year. In January, the company forecast annual sales of $43.5 billion, and its updated guidance will be reported when second quarter results are posted in April.
