Health care organizations nationwide have been reducing staff partly because of reduced government reimbursements for Medicare and Medicaid services. Following suit, St. Louis-based SSM Health Care announced it will cut jobs across its network, which includes Dean Health System and St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison as well as facilities in Baraboo, Janesville, Columbus, and Stoughton. SSM also operates in Missouri, Illinois, and Oklahoma.
