The Kentucky bourbon maker is halting production at one of its distilleries for at least a year, the Associated Press reports.
Tariffs have greatly affected the spirit industry, with Canada deciding to remove some U.S.-made liquor from stores.
Jim Beam will pause production at its Clermont, Kentucky, location in 2026. According to the company, it will give them time to invest in improvements at the distillery.
Bottling and warehouse facilities will remain open, as will the James B. Beam Distilling Co. visitors center and restaurant.
The company’s larger distillery in Boston, Kentucky, will continue to operate.
Employees at the distillery are being reassigned within the company, with no layoffs planned.
