It’s no secret that JC Penney stores have been struggling over the past few years. Now, the retailer is adjusting by closing 33 stores in five states, a move that will affect 2,000 jobs and save the company $65 million. Stores in Janesville, Fond du Lac, Rhinelander, Rice Lake, and Wausau are among those being targeted. They may be shuttered by May as the company focuses more on its higher-earning stores.
