According to NBC15, the School District of Janesville Board of Education on Tuesday announced that it has approved pay increases for certified teaching staff for the 2023–24 school year. The cost-of-living increase will raise pay by 5.9%.

The decision is aimed at rewarding longtime educators as well as attracting new hires in a competitive market. It follows the Janesville Education Association’s vote to approve the contract proposal.

Superintendent Mark Holzman stated that the investment would still respect limits of the district’s budget and taxpayer funding. Seventy-one percent of district staff live in Janesville.
