The James Beard Foundation announced a Madison chef, chocolatier, and meal kit business among its 2024 Restaurant and Chef Awards semifinalists, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The prestigious awards recognize chefs, restaurants, journalists, and authors in the food and beverage industry.
Syovata Edari was named one of 20 semifinalists in the “Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker” category. Edari owns CocoVaa Chocolatier at 1815 E. Washington Ave.
Pasture and Plenty, a meal kit service and farm-to-table deli and catering business located at 2433 University Ave., was named a semifinalist for “Outstanding Hospitality.”
Sean Pharr, chef and co-owner of Mint Mark at 1929 Winnebago St., was named a semifinalist in the “Best Chef: Midwest” category. He was named a semifinalist in the same category in 2020.
