Fya Syde Kitchen, a new Jamaican-inspired restaurant, is set to open in April at 1925 Monroe St., the former home of Taberna Tacos & Tequila, according to The Capital Times. Owners Nicollette Beckford and Xavier Fuller aim to bring a mix of Caribbean classics and Jamaican-style burgers and sandwiches to Madison.

The menu will feature dishes like oxtail stew, jerk chicken, and curry goat, along with fusion items that incorporate Jamaican flavors into American staples.

Fya Syde Kitchen is an extension of Beckford’s growing brand, which began as a Jamaican party series in the Wisconsin Dells and later expanded into a food truck at the Grateful Shed. After closing the truck in 2024, she continued serving customers through pick-up and delivery before securing the Monroe Street location.

The new restaurant will blend menu favorites from Beckford’s Grateful Melt food truck with her popular FYASYDE Jamaican dishes, though the focus will be on Caribbean cuisine. She is also known for her house-made jerk sauce with spices imported from Jamaica.
