Jade Monkey, an eastside cocktail bar that’s been on the corner of Cottage Grove Road and Monona Drive for the past 13 years, will soon be moving a block east, to Hoey Apothecary’s former location at 217 Cottage Grove Road.
Hoey Apothecary moved to larger space on Monona Drive last year.
Hawk Sullivan, owner of several area establishments including Hawk’s Bar & Grill on State Street, owns Jade Monkey and says the new location will be larger and safer in terms of staff and bartender sight lines. It will also offer well-lit parking, according to a Wisconsin State Journal article.
Assuming city approvals come through, Sullivan will begin renovations soon with hopes of opening in mid-May.
