Longtime Isthmus publisher Vince O’Hern and his wife, associate publisher Linda Baldwin, have sold the weekly newspaper to a trio that includes one former Green Bay Packer and two men with ties to the satirical paper The Onion.

Mark Tauscher, the former Packer, teamed up with Jeff Haupt and Craig Bartlett to purchase the Madison publication for an undisclosed amount. Haupt purchased and ran a franchise of The Onion in Colorado before returning to Madison to oversee five regional Onion markets. He’s also the founder of Red Card Meal Plan. Bartlett also has a history with The Onion and has done sales and marketing for the Madison Mallards and Adams Outdoor Advertising. Tauscher, a former UW football player, had a 10-year career with the Packers.

O’Hern and Baldwin will retire from the company.
