The U.S.-Iran war has been in motion since the end of February, driving up the cost of oil to over $100 a barrel, increasing the cost of goods and generally creating a volatile Wall Street.
According to the Associated Press, Iran officials said they would reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the source of some of the problems, as well as attacks on oil production sites in the Middle East, if the U.S. is willing to stop its blockade of Iran and end the war.
According to the report, President Donald Trump has received the proposal.
The Strait accounts for one-fifth of oil shipments. The U.S. blockade aims to cut off Iran from selling its oil.
