First, it was tariffs, and now the Iran war is expected to bring challenges to Wisconsin’s farmers.
Wisconsin Public Radio reported that not only has oil and gas prices affect farmers, but so too will slower shipments of nitrogen fertilizer from the Gulf region.
NPR reported that about one-third of fertilizer shipments in the world make their way through the Strait of Hormuz, which has been bottlenecked since the war started, with Iran blocking passage of commercial ships.
The report said not only are prices rising, but shipments will most likely arrive late.
