Fans of games like Wingspan will have one fewer location in which to shop for the popular birding game come July.
Bryan Winter, owner of I’m Board, announced Friday that the Monroe Street location of his board game stores would close at the end of July due to low sales.
“Typically, any new business that shows promise should show a sharply rising sales curve for the first few years of operation, with that curve eventually becoming more flattened,” Winter said in a statement. “Regrettably, sales at Monroe Street have been consistently trending very flat and even downward when compared year over year. This is more alarming because sales at the other locations have been rising.”
Winter went on to say that the Middleton and Sun Prairie locations, aside from during the pandemic, have experienced increased sales year over year.
“The fact that Monroe was not following this trend was a concern,” he said.
