Chamberlain Research Consultants (CRC) added two questions for our 100 company execs to answer this month. First: Which of the following statements best describes how you will decide whether or not to adjust your current contribution to employee benefits in response to health care reform? Answers: Work the numbers to see which option makes most sense financially (49%); It’s important to recruitment/retention strategy to provide health care (22%); I consider it a moral responsibility to provide health care benefits (17%); I haven’t put any serious though to it (10%); IÕm waiting to see what other businesses do before making decision (2%).

Who influences those decisions in terms of options chosen? Second question: Who have you turned to for information and advice about health care reform and its potential impact on your business in the future? [May have multiple answers]. Answers: Insurance agents/brokers (68%); Internal HR resources [46%]; Media/news coverage [32%]; Health care providers [32%]; Insurance companies [27%]; No one as of yet [10%]; Healthcare.gov website [5%]; WI Insurance website [2%] and “Other” [12%].

Thanks again to our partner, CRC, for helping us bring you an accurate snapshot of what BUSINESS managers (versus political pundits) think in regard to our area’s economic forecast in 2009-2010. We’ll collaborate in 2011, too, as we continue the “recovery” story.
