A 9,000-square-foot space on the former site of a Pier 1 Imports store could be the new location for a Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits store, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The stand-alone liquor store would be the first for Hy-Vee in Wisconsin. The Iowa-based grocery store chain operates in Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and Minnesota.
The new store, proposed for the corner of Mineral Point Road and D’Onafrio Drive, would be a full-service liquor store employing 15 people. The store would feature a temperature-controlled wine room, a humidor for cigars, and a tasting area for educational classes and presentations by brewers, winemakers, and distillers.
