Humana Inc. has agreed to pay $2.5 million in back wages and interest as part of a conciliatory agreement with the U.S. Department of Labor to resolve allegations of pay discrimination against 753 women.

According to a release, the department’s Federal Contract Compliance Programs found that in 2011–2012, the health insurance company paid women in the roles of consulting, project manager, and manager less than they did men. The employees were all based at Humana’s headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky.

Humana also agreed to make pay adjustments.
