Columbus-based manufacturer Hughes Co. has been acquired by Blackthorne Partners of Brookfield, an investment company, and Ross Lund, formerly an executive with a Lake Geneva rubber products manufacturer. Hughes has 34 employees and makes stainless steel equipment for the food-processing industry. Lund was named president and CEO of the company, now named Hughes Equipment Co., while Jeff Powell, its former president and owner, will retain an interest and serve as a consultant.
