U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde said in a WisPolitics–WisconsinEye interview that if he defeats U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin in November, he would “totally recuse” himself from the California bank he owns and step away from his business holdings.
If elected, Hovde would become one of the wealthiest members of Congress. He earlier this week reported his net worth at between $195.5 million and $564.4 million. That number could be even higher: Hovde listed the value of his holding in Sunwest Bank Inc. at more than $50 million, the highest federally-required disclosure.
