After discouraging donations of homemade face masks, local hospitals are now accepting them for use by those other than health care workers, according to a report by the Wisconsin State Journal.
While homemade masks are not compliant for use in clinical areas, they will be distributed to discharged patients, their families, and hospital staff for use outside the hospital to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
