According to the Wisconsin Realtors Association, existing home sales across Wisconsin jumped nearly 10% in October compared to October 2013, and the median price also increased 4.2% to $148,000.
But in Dane County, according to the South Central Wisconsin MLS, home sales trailed October 2013’s numbers by 4%, falling from 502 in October 2013 to 482 this year, while the median sales price rose 3.7%, from $217,398 to $225,500 year over year due to tighter inventory.
Through October, 6,075 homes and condos were sold in Dane County, down 7.7% compared to the same period in 2013, when 6,582 properties were sold.
