Home sales set record, inventory needed

The number of homes sold across the state set a record in 2017, up 1.4% compared to 2016, but inventory remained tight, according to the Wisconsin REALTORS’ Association.

For all of 2017, the annual median price of $174,000 was 5.5% higher than 2016.

In Dane County, the median price of a single-family home or condo increased 7.3% year over year, from $245,000 in 2016 to $262,900 last year, even though fewer homes were sold (-0.2%).
