Sales of existing homes and condos in Dane County increased 18.5% in March compared to March 2014, capping the best first quarter since 2006, according to the South Central Wisconsin MLS Corp. The median home sale price increased by 6.3%, from $207,000 to $220,000.
There were 578 sales in March, compared to 488 a year ago, and the average sale price increased year to year, from $233,683 last March to $250,782. Inventory is tighter this year, with 1,927 active listings reported in March compared to 2,304 in March 2014.
