Sales of single-family existing homes fell 9.8% in March compared to March 2013, according to the South Central Wisconsin MLS. It was the third consecutive month of declining sales compared to 2013, which happened to be a very robust year for home sales.
In March, 470 single-family homes or condos were sold in Dane County, compared to 521 in March 2013.
Median prices showed a better story. In March, Dane County’s median price increased 4.6%, from $196,000 to $205,000, compared to March 2013. In a year-over-year breakout, the median price for condos increased 11%, while single-family homes increased 3.4%.
