For the first time since October 2007, the number of building permits for single-family homes and duplexes in Dane County surpassed 100 in October, with 102 issued, according to MTD Marketing Services of Menasha. January through October, Dane County has seen 933 permits issued, a 38% rise over the same period in 2012, when the total was 676. The City of Madison saw 189 permits issued year-to-date through October, compared to 133 a year ago, a 42% increase.
