The number of available homes for sale in Dane County was among the lowest in the state according to the latest report from the Wisconsin Realtors Association. With just 4.6 months of available inventory, Dane County tied with St. Croix County for the second-tightest listing inventory in the state. Waukesha County had the fewest number of homes.

Statewide, home sales dropped in February by 10.1%, due in part to rising interest rates and, more likely, the weather. But the median price of a home statewide increased to $130,000, a 7.4% increase compared to February 2013, when the median price was $121,000.
