According to an Adobe Analytics report, U.S. shoppers spent $14.25 billion on Cyber Monday, with total online sales over the Thanksgiving weekend topping $44.2 billion.
This represents a gain of 8.2% in sales over the same period last year.
Reuters reported that a record 202.9 million shoppers partook in Cyber Monday, with 197 million recorded last year.
And the National Retail Federation said 129.5 million people visited stores to shop, an increase of 3% over the previous year. The average shopper also spent more, increasing from $315.56 a year ago to $337.86 per shopper this year over the Thanksgiving weekend.
