A former summer camp structure at the Gov. Nelson State Park was set to be razed by the state, but thanks to the Friends of Governor Nelson State Park, Hogan House will be restored, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
The nearly $100,000 restoration of the 600-square-foot building, designed by Madison architect William V. Kaeser, served as a bunkhouse for Camp Wakanda in 1950. The camp closed in the 1970s, and the structure fell out of use.
The nonprofit will host open houses for the Hogan House, with one set for Oct. 25 from 4 to 5 p.m.
