Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting economic downturn, Hobby Lobby is laying off 27 employees at its Madison location and 639 statewide, and Verona-based PC/Nametag is laying off 46 employees. Layoffs for both companies were announced in letters to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
Additionally, Dodgeville-based Lands’ End announced that about 70 percent of its corporate employees and nearly all of its retail workers were placed on furlough as of March 28, according to a report from the Milwaukee Business Journal. Many workers won’t return to work until at least May 1.
