Nepali restaurant Himal Chuli closed after 40 years of operation, but it will return thanks to the owner’s grandson.

Ashim Malla, grandson of longtime owner Krishna Pradhan, plans to reopen Himal Chuli, located at 318 State St., in about a month, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.

Malla will rename the restaurant Himali Chulo, at his grandfather’s request, which means “kitchen from the mountains.”

Malla owns the Globe Restaurant, Ashirwad Indian Restaurant and the Triangle Market in Madison.
