Amara at Hilldale is closing, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The upscale contemporary Italian restaurant will have its last day on July 27.

The restaurant, run by Josh Berkson, majority owner of Lucille near the Capitol and co-founder of Rule No. One Hospitality Group, had a 10-year lease at 670 N. Midvale Blvd. The 5,100-square-foot spot has a 110-person indoor seating capacity.

Amara will offer dinner service only during its final weeks, along with substantial discounts. All bottles of wine and amaro will be half price beginning Monday, and cocktails will be 25% off.
