In a 5–3 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court will not extend the Wisconsin absentee ballot deadline, according to a Wisconsin State Journalreport.

The conservative court sided with Republicans to prevent the state from counting mailed ballots received after Election Day. The lower court had ruled earlier that ballots received up to six days after Nov. 3 would be counted.
