A fundraising campaign to cover legal expenses after Helbachs Coffee Roasters and Kitchen of Middleton violated the Dane County mask mandate has been established with a goal of raising $50,000, according to a report from WKOW-TV.
The “Freedom Fund” is anticipated to cover the expenses of a supposed impending legal challenge to a citation the business received violating Emergency Order No. 8 requiring all persons in Dane County to wear masks in public places.
Helbachs was fined $263.50 by Public Health Madison and Dane County for refusing to comply with the county’s mask ordinance.
