Milwaukee-based Harley-Davison will cut 700 positions worldwide in an effort to overhaul its global operating model and trim costs, according to a company release.

The initial measures are expected to result in $42 million in savings for the second quarter of 2020. The “Rewire” restructuring plan will leave 200 vacant positions unfilled and result in 500 employees leaving the company in 2020.
