Madison organization GSAFE, which creates just schools for LGBTQ+ youth across the state, announced its annual Celebration of Leadership gala, taking place on May 17 from 5-8:30 p.m. at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. The event will bring together community members, educators, advocates and students.
The Celebration of Leadership recognizes high school seniors from across Wisconsin who have shown exceptional leadership and advocacy for LGBTQ+ equity and inclusion. In addition to awarding scholarships to these students, the event will also honor individuals and organizations that have demonstrated commitment to creating safer and more affirming schools and communities.
The evening will include dinner and multiple speakers. The funds raised from this event directly support GSAFE’s year-round programming, including leadership development, educator training, racial justice initiatives and advocacy efforts across Wisconsin.
