Groundbreaking was held this morning for the Gebhardt Building and Frank Productions The Sylvee at 811 E. Washington Ave.
In addition to The Sylvee, a 50,000-square-foot performance venue, the 8-story building will feature 100,000 square feet of retail and office space. It will be built on the final piece of property remaining from the former Don Miller auto dealership and represents the third project — joining the Constellation and the Galaxie — that Gebhardt Development has built on the East Washington Corridor.
It will be built alongside another 8-story building — American Family Insurance’s Spark Building, the future home of StartingBlock Madison. Groundbreaking on the 158,000 entrepreneurial center was held earlier this year, with scheduled completion in mid-2018.
