In a Facebook post pushing for public comment, local grocer Tim Metcalfe outlined his letter to the Wisconsin State Disaster Medical Advisory Committee/Vaccine Distribution Subcommittee urging them to reconsider their decision to not include those in the grocery industry in phase 1b of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Metcalfe, the president of Metcalfe’s Market, states that “Grocery workers have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic and are as critical to our food supply as farmers.” The letter states the exposure of grocery workers to the public puts them at an increased risk of infection.
