Ed Policy on Friday took over for Mark Murphy as the Green Bay Packers’ president and CEO, the Associated Press reports. The NFL’s only publicly owned franchise held its annual shareholders meeting that day.

Murphy’s decision to step down is a result of the franchise’s mandatory retirement age of 70, which he reached earlier this month.

During Murphy’s 17 seasons as president and CEO, the team made 13 playoff appearances and won the Super Bowl in 2010. His tenure also saw the construction of Titletown, a 45-acre development adjacent to Lambeau Field that includes shops, restaurants and apartments.

Policy, 54, was unanimously selected by the Packers’ board of directors after a search committee recommended him last year. He joined the Packers as vice president and general counsel in August 2012 and was promoted to chief operating officer in January 2018.
