Great Lakes Higher Education Corp. and Affiliates of Madison will fund two local UW initiatives to help disadvantaged students complete degrees and pursue STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) careers. The Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning will get a $3.2 million grant, and a $4 million grant will go to the Wisconsin HOPE Lab.
