The Flats at Grandview Commons, a $20.3 million, 94-unit affordable housing community designed for working families, broke ground on a vacant lot at the corner of Milwaukee Street and Milky Way.

Six two-story buildings will offer a mix of two and three bedroom units and a community clubhouse. On-site supportive services will also be included.

WHEDA is providing $11 million in both construction and permanent financing. UnitedHealthcare is the largest private investor, with $5.4 million in equity through a partnership with Cinnaire and Minnesota Equity Fund.
