Gov. Scott Walker signed the controversial mining bill into law Monday, just four days after it sailed through the Wisconsin State Assembly on a party line vote of 58-39. The Republican-majority Senate previously rejected Democratic arguments and amendments and passed the mining bill on a vote of 17-16, with Republican Dale Schultz of Richland Center voting with Democrats, as he did a year ago.
