Gov. Tony Evers announced Friday he has signed Executive Order #284, extending the energy emergency in the state of Wisconsin.
The move comes from supply challenges caused by pipeline disruptions in the Midwestern pipeline distribution system, and high demand for residential heating fuel, including oil and propane.
Executive Order #284 will support delivery of these products throughout the state.
“The health and safety of our neighbors remains our top priority, and these folks depend on access to these essential resources,” Evers said in a statement. “By extending this emergency order, we’re keeping these fuels moving to those who need it and ensuring Wisconsinites remain warm and safe this winter.”
According to the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin’s Office of Energy Innovation, multiple suppliers report continued challenges obtaining needed products.
