Due to unprecedented crowds, litter, vandalism, and out of an abundance of caution to protect public health and safety, Gov. Tony Evers directed the state Department of Natural Resources to close a number of state parks.

Forty state parks, forests, and recreational areas in the southeast and south-central regions of the state will close April 10 and remain closed until further notice.
